Oregon Girl

This is my first post so I'll share one of my newer favorite songs. I'll make sure I post more songs later on.

"Oregon Girl" by Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin

O-bla-di O-bla-da.

O-bla-di O-bla-da. by The Beatles. This is a fun song. I heard it for the first time in ages this morning and it made me smile.

Gloridean

Gloridean (Live) by Dead Can Dance. This is another song I found by accident. The vocals are powerful and evocative while the music is haunting. This is great headphone music.

Ameno

Ameno by Era. I found this when looking for another song. It has an interesting mix of (Latin?) vocals and instrumentation.

Hanginaround

For some reason, this is one band that always seems to put me in a good mood.

Our Music May Be Temporary

We rely on Radio Blog Club and it's members for the music we post. When playlists are changed or deleted this effects our posts. On that note:

Dust In The Wind by Kansas.

Sex And Drugs And Rock 'N' Roll

Sex And Drugs And Rock 'N' Roll by Ian Dury & The Blockheads. I remember listening to this with my dad. He didn't like most of my music but he liked Ian Dury.

Sidebar/Dr. Hook

I added two new links to the sidebar and I may make an index page. The page would have a list (with links) of all the songs we post in this blog.

The links are to Lyrics On Demand and allmusic. Allmusic is a great website that has lots of information about music and musicians.

Before the Internet people got music information from magazines like Billboard and Rolling Stone.

Route 66

Finally got a chance to see Cars last night. I was pretty impressed with it, despite many saying it wasn't as good as past Pixar efforts. Anyway...I couldn't stop playing this song in my head for some reason. This might not be one of the two versions used in the movie, but its still cool to hear the Stones' take on it.

Lucky Man

When I was 13 or 14 I recorded some songs from my brothers' records. I tried to write all the song titles on the cassette case but couldn't fit everything.

One of my cassettes had cool keyboard music but I couldn't remember the name of the band. Eventually the tape died but I still remembered the music. In the late 80s I found a used copy of the album Brain Salad Surgery by Emerson, Lake and Palmer. I bought it and discovered that the album was the one I had recorded years before.

Lucky Man by Emerson, Lake and Palmer - I love the vocals and also the keyboards at the end.

Speed Of Sound

Speed Of Sound by Coldplay. I first heard this in an amateur video. It fit the video and appealed to me.

The Godfather Theme

Coin Operated Boy

Coin Operated Boy by The Dresden Dolls is a whimsical punk-cabaret song and I am hooked on it.

Guidelines

Members can post any music they want. Make sure that the RBC player works. Make sure you tell readers the name of the song and the name of the artist. All other information is optional.

When you use Radio Blog Club playlists try to find the best sounding copy. Some recordings are poor. Look for the white triangle in a blue square: "Blog This Track" button. Select all the code and paste into your blog post and then preview to make sure the song plays.

I thought that "My Way" would be an appropriate song to emphasize that each member will post different types of music. Sinatra's version may be a classic but it can cause drowsiness in some people. I found a version by Sid Vicious (formerly of the Sex Pistols). It is bizarre enough in itself but becomes normal (for punk) quite soon.

About This Blog

Welcome to 2 Lazy 4 Radio. This is a group blog showcasing music we like to listen to. It is managed in the spirit of 2 Lazy 2 Blog in that the emphasis is on having fun rather than being blog masters.

I have created podcasts and used sites like Radio Blog Club but never got around to making a blog dedicated to audio blogging.

Members will present one or two songs per post and comment on them. We will use RBC's new blog feature when possible to provide music within the post. Some sites may be text linked. No mp3 files will be saved in this blog.

Let's start this blog off with something dramatic. Al Hirt's Green Hornet Theme.
